About Rig & Ride

Rig & Ride maps the coverage each kind of RV, trailer and motorcycle needs, and sets it against the federal numbers that drive motorcycle premiums: FHWA registrations, NHTSA rider deaths and each state's helmet law.

How the site works

The state figures come from federal sources — FHWA motorcycle registrations and NHTSA rider deaths for 2023 — and the IIHS helmet law table, each linked on the page that uses it. The coverage checklists are written from standard RV and motorcycle policy forms and say what each line is for; the site never quotes premiums. Every formula and every exclusion is on the methodology page.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong or a source has changed, email hello@rigandridecover.com with the page and a link. Corrections go into the data file and the check date updates with the next build.
